Santa Catalina Shoal Bay was originally built back in the mid 1950’s , has been the favoured place to stay for holiday makers. Initially built as and run as a large B&B over time we have added full kitchens into the rooms to make each and every room full self-contained.

While we don’t pretend to be five star penthouse apartments however we do pride ourselves on offering clean, affordable, comfortable accommodation with a retro feel. The “flared” verandah posts, the inbuilt wooden dining table and matching wall feature and even the retro style freestanding oven are a few small touches from the 1950’s have been purposely maintained to give you a little feeling of yesteryear.

Situated perfectly across the road from the popular Shoal Bay Beach. A 50m walk finds you in the heart of Shoal Bay with its many restaurants, cafes and boutique shops.

Santa Catalina Shoal Bay is the ideal spot for everyone. The younger families love the calm beach for the little ones just outside your door, the couples can have a quiet romantic weekend away and the fisherman have access to the boat ramp 100m away, we are even happy to accommodate your group week/weekend away be that one room or all twelve.

Santa Catalina Shoal Bay is located and easy 5 minute drive to the heart of Nelson Bay. Dolphin and Whale watching Cruises, parasailing, fishing boat hire and charters and any other water activity you could image, award winning restaurants and cafes and the centrally located d’Albora Marina.
